Meryem Uzun-Per is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Biomedical Informatics at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Dr. Uzun-Per received her BSc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey, in 2007 and 2018 respectively, her MSc. degree in computer engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey, in 2011. During her PhD, she worked on computer vision and image analysis problems especially on face recognition problem. During her MSc., she worked on a natural language processing problems especially for Turkish and as a graduation project of her BSc., she worked on an optimization problem. She worked as a research and teaching assistant in computer engineering in Istanbul Technical University, Turkey for eight years. After working as an assistant professor in Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Turkey for one year, she started to work as a postdoctoral research fellow in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in 2019. Her research interests include machine learning and image processing.
