Khalid Niazi is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Internal Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He completed his postdoctoral training in digital pathology from the Ohio State University with emphasis on narrowing the semantic gap between image analysis and pathology. He received his PhD in Medical Image Analysis from the Center for Image Analysis, Uppsala University, Sweden. During his PhD, he contributed towards the development of non-linear filtering, registration, and optimization methods for medical images. At the moment, he is developing methods for automated image analysis of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, neuroendocrine tumor, tuberculosis, follicular lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and breast cancer.
